Welcome to my blog. I’ve been willing to start documenting my financial journey to wherever it is going to take me for quite a while already, and sometimes even share my opinion about certain topics. Usually random, but I tend to focus on philosophic, rational, and neutral views on things. Finally, in January of 2022, I decided to start this project.

Originally from Latvia, but since 2016, I am an immigrant in the UK. I don’t stand out from the crowd with basically anything. Just a regular guy, currently employed in the logistics sector, working for one of the biggest retail chains in the UK. As a warehouse operative.

The main idea was to show that it is possible to squirrel away something for retirement, even when earning a relatively low income. The relativity of the income we’re talking about is debatable, but I think we’re talking about low income for the English-speaking part of the world.

For context, in the year 2016, at the age of 22, before leaving my country of origin, I was earning approximately 6600 euros a year on hand. And by the end of the year, already being here in the UK, I started earning a wage of roughly £13000 a year after tax. With this perspective, I will surely have things to share.

When writing, I will try to stay anonymous, recognition is not what I am looking for by doing this.

I hope you will enjoy my scribbles.
